De-stress and release tension
Deep tissue massage is great for de-stressing, releasing mental and physical tension, increasing your energy levels and enhancing your overall sense of well-being. It is worth making a distinction here regarding stress. Not only does a treatment itself de-stress you, but more importantly, a deep-tissue-massage improves your automatic response to stress – in other words you deal with on-coming stress better.
Deep-tissue massage works on the deeper muscles within your body, and your therapist uses slower firmer strokes than normal massage. If you have a particular area of tension and strain then we can concentrate the massage on those particular areas using deep finger pressure.
Aleviate tension, stiffness or work on an injury
Our massages are particularly good for lower back tension, stiff neck and sore shoulders. The deep pressure can help break up and eliminate scar tissue.
For those of you who are really stiff you need to bear in mind that one session may not be enough to get you back to your best self. Depending on your specific requirements your therapist may suggest a course of treatments.
A bit of science regarding deep tissue massage for men
When muscles are stressed, they block the intake of oxygen and nutrients, which can lead to inflammation and a build up of toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep-tissue-massage unblocks the tension, loosens muscle tissue, purges toxins and increases circulation.
Because toxins are released we advise you to drink plenty of water after a session to eliminate the toxins from your body.
